By using our femtosecond laser, we can perform eye surgery with minimal energy consumption and minimal damage to tissue, for example in cases of cataracts, certain types of vision impairment and refractive lens surgery. 78% of eye surgeons would choose cataract surgery with the femtosecond laser for their own eyes. 

A femtosecond lasts only one quadrillionth of a second, during this time, the light pulse travels a distance of 0.3 nanometres, which is about one hundredth of the diameter of a human hair. The ultra short light pulses of our femtosecond laser are barely perceptible to the human eye. When a light pulse reaches the inside of the tissue, small bubbles of water and carbon dioxide are formed. The more pulses are strung together, the more bubbles are formed and the cleaner the cut. This protects the surrounding tissue and also has a positive effect on the healing process.
